Was James Comey Still a Communist When He Led the FBI?

Was James Comey Still a Communist When He Led the FBI?

From Communist to GOP Hero? James Comey's Political Clown Show Just Got Indicted

James Comey wants you to believe he’s a “lifelong Republican.” He repeated this line like a broken wind-up doll throughout 2016, 2017, and into his 2018 book tour—as if saying it enough times might overwrite everything he admitted in 2003.

Yes, the same James Comey who told New York Magazine in 2003—while serving in the Bush DOJ—that he had moved from being a Communist to whatever the hell he was at the time. In his own words:

"I’d moved from Communist to whatever I am now. I don’t know what I am now. I’d vote for Jimmy Carter. I’d vote for Clinton. I’d vote for whoever the Democrat was."

Sounds like something you’d expect from the DNC’s secret underground Marxist outreach program.

Let’s be clear: Comey said this at age 42, not during some beer-soaked college phase. He was already high up in the Department of Justice, fresh off being appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York by George W. Bush. And yet, he casually admits he was a Communist and regularly backed Democrats like Carter and Clinton.

But wait, there’s more!

Rewind to the 1990s. Before his Bush-era appointments, Comey served as Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia under Helen Fahey, a Bill Clinton-appointed U.S. Attorney. This was no low-level gig. This was senior leadership in one of the most powerful DOJ districts in the country. And here’s the rub: Democrats don’t hire Republicans for top roles.  EVER! Certainly not during the Clinton years. Not in the EDVA. Not unless you're politically safe, i.e., not a "lifelong Republican."

So let’s recap:

  • He voted for Clinton.
  • He worked under Clinton’s DOJ.
  • He called himself a Communist.
  • He claimed in 2003 that he didn’t even know what he was, and remember, he was 42 at that time!

And then, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of political amnesia, Comey emerges in 2016-2018 on his book tour, declaring he’s a “lifelong Republican.” Because nothing screams GOP loyalty like backing Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton and keeping Hillary Clinton out of Federal prison!

This isn’t a political evolution. This is a political reinvention, carefully timed to give him that sweet Beltway virtue-signaling sheen while attacking Trump, a man the establishment needed him to wound. The media, hungry for a turncoat Republican who hated Trump, gave him sainthood. But the record doesn’t lie.

The Real Comey Timeline:

  • 1980: Old enough to vote for Carter in his re-election bid.
  • 1990s: Works for Clinton's DOJ under a Democrat U.S. Attorney.
  • 2003: Tells New York Magazine he was a Communist and voted Democrat.
  • 2013: Appointed FBI Director by Barack Obama.
  • 2016–2017: Plays both sides of the Clinton email saga.
  • 2018: Suddenly discovers he’s been a Republican all along!

Final Thought:

James Comey’s “lifelong Republican” pitch is flimsier than Hunter’s prostitute’s panties. It’s a narrative crafted for TV, not truth—a PR stunt dressed up in Bureau-issued that sweet beltway virtue-signaling sheen. He’s not a conservative. He’s not even consistent. He’s a political chameleon in pinstripes, changing colors whenever the spotlight shifts.

And in a twist that feels more like poetic justice than political theater, Comey gets indicted on September 25, 2025, for lying to Congress about leaking FBI information to the press. Specifically, he falsely testified in 2020 that he never authorized anyone to leak confidential details to the media, when in fact, he directed his close friend and Columbia Law professor Daniel Richman to leak the contents of his memos to The New York Times in 2017. The goal? To trigger the appointment of a special counsel to go after Trump.  You know, the kind of thing a "lifelong Republican" would never do... unless the party now includes deep-state drama queens with a flair for selective amnesia.

I think only a Communist would do something like that!

He’s pleaded not guilty (shocker), but the timing? Priceless. The man who helped Clinton dodge prison now faces felony charges for doing the very thing he claimed under oath he didn’t do.

And now, thanks to his own words, a little timeline dissection, and a shiny new indictment, the façade collapses.

Now, here is some bonus material that not a single person, especially the media, never mentioned in 2003:

J. Edgar Hoover (former FBI Director):

“Communism is not a political party. It is a way of life—an evil and malignant way of life.”
from his book, “Masters of Deceit” (1958) Hoover firmly believed people who identified as communists should never be trusted, even if they claimed to have changed.

Inside U.S. intelligence circles (FBI, CIA, DIA), the unspoken doctrine for decades was:

“Once a Red, always a Red.”

  • Especially true for those seeking security clearances. A past association with Communism—no matter how distant—was considered a permanent liability.

James Comey:

"I’d moved from Communist to whatever I am now. I don’t know what I am now. I’d vote for Jimmy Carter. I’d vote for Clinton. I’d vote for whoever the Democrat was." New York Magazine article “Man in the Middle”  November 9, 2003
